Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales took part in the Sea Angling Liaison Committee (SALC) Home Nations Championships 2023 which were held in Phwelli, North Wales.
Jack Reynolds from Worlebury was selected to fish for England under the Sea Angling England Talent PathwayJunior Shore Team with Archie Sweetland, Curtis Driver, Lexie Groves, Sophie Cossey and Benjamin Lee.

The pathway offers talented young anglers with the potential and aspiration to represent England with opportunities to access a high performance coaching and education programme. The purpose of the programme is to produce the England International anglers of the future.
In first place after the first day of fishing; England came out and maintained their form on the second day. They kept that up throughout the day to win the trophy and gold medals.
A tremendous achievement with a true team performance. Ireland finished in second place with 24 points with England scoring 33. Bronze medals went to Scotland with Wales finishing in fourth position.
Individual table positions were the unflappable Jack Reynolds – first, Sophie Cossey – second and Liam Davis of Ireland – third.

The team is managed by Paul Driver and assistant manager Anton James.
Paul said: “The whole competition with this team has been brilliant and I am so pleased for them all. For all the team to catch in every Zone was an achievement in itself. But for each of them to finish in first and second place in their Zones, I couldn’t ask for more.”
Jack said: “I would like to thank Paul and Anton for the coaching that they have given me.”
16-year-old Jack is a student at Weston College and is a member of Channel Anglers, Sea Angling Club.
He will now go on to fish in World Championships in the Netherlands later in the year.
