Jack in first place…
Elite sea angler Jack Reynolds of Worlebury took the short trip to the town beach for the Weston-super-Mare Sea Angling Association (WsMSAA) Junior Match.
The 12-year-old won the event with a haul of six fish including five bass and a flounder. Overall length was 106cm, the largest being a 37cm bass.
Jack was using a Zziplex Primo Match sea fishing rod with an Infinity 8000 reel. He was using his own constructed rigs with lugworm bait.
When asked what he put his success down to, he said: “The right bait and the coaching from other anglers.”
He is a Year 8 pupil at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare and a member of Bristol Channel Fishing – Supporting Angling Communities, where he takes part in match fishing for Channel Anglers.
Second in the match was Joseph Healey followed by Toby Heard in third place.
Jack is coached by James T Madsen and sponsored by Baytree Road Garage, Weston-super-Mare.
