Jack wins again in Weston…
Sea angler Jack Reynolds of Worlebury spent his birthday taking part in the Weston-super-Mare Sea Angling Association (WsMSAA) Junior Match on the town beach.
Fish were in short supply but the 13-year-old repeated his success of last month by again taking first place in the competition. One conger eel measuring 71cm was enough for him to win the match.
Jack was using a Zziplex Primo Match sea fishing rod with an Infinity 8000 reel. He was using his own constructed rigs with lugworm bait.
When asked what he put his success down to, he said: “The coaching that I receive to improve my skills.”
He is a Year 8 pupil at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare. Present at the beach was Jacqui Scott, Principal of the school who was supporting her star fisherman.
Jack is a member of Bristol Channel Fishing – Supporting Angling Communities, where he takes part in match fishing for Channel Anglers and is coached by James T Madsen.
He is sponsored by Baytree Road Garage, Weston-super-Mare.
Second in the match was Jack’s 13-year-old cousin Harvey Parslow, a Year 8 pupil at Priory Community School.
