Jack in the money at Weston…

Elite sea angler Jack Reynolds of Worlebury took the short trip to the Weston beach for the Weston-super-Mare Sea Angling Association (WsMSAA), Spring Open match.

The 11-year-old won the longest fish in his zone, with a flounder, coming away with a cash prize of One hundred and fifty pounds. Quite an achievement considering the adult anglers that he was up against.

On 15 May 1915 the Hunt family of Congresbury welcomed a new daughter into the family. Irene May Hunt was born. Her father was Edward Hunt a quarry man, her mother was Amy Hunt.

Several years later on 15 January 1919, Herbert and Annie Bray of Bath added another member to their family. Frederick Claud Bray was born.

Hornettes girls selected for Centre of Excellence…

Four Weston Hornettes players have been selected for the U18 Centre of Excellence programme with the English RFU. They are one step further along the England Pathway.

All of those selected have represented Somerset U18 Girls and are undefeated this season at county level. The players are Amy Coles, Katie Reynolds, Natasha Foley and Eleanor Febrey.
